Access to Swansea by road, rail and sea is good and the growing Cardiff International Airport is just one hour away. The M4 motorway, the main east-west arterial route from London, leads directly to Swansea. Swansea has a direct hourly rail service from London Paddington (about 3 hours), and is linked to most other parts of the rail network via Cardiff Central. Travelling from Airports There is a direct National Express coach service from London Heathrow to Swansea (this must be pre-booked), or to Reading railway station which connects with inter-city rail services to Swansea. Alternatively, take the Heathrow Express train to London Paddington station, from where there are regular direct trains to Swansea. From London Gatwick there is a direct National Express coach to Swansea (this must be pre-booked). Alternatively, take a train to Reading for connections to Swansea. From London Stansted there are train services to London Liverpool St. This is connected, via the underground network, to London Paddington from which there are frequent services to Swansea. Otherwise, take the Stansted-Heathrow shuttle service for coach connections to Swansea. From Birmingham International there are train services to Swansea via Birmingham New Street station. Cardiff Wales Airport, located 35 miles from Swansea, also offers a range of international services. From Cardiff Airport take the hourly rail service from Rhoose (Cardiff International Airport) changing at Bridgend. Alternatively take a bus or taxi to Cardiff City Centre for train and bus links to Swansea. Bristol International Airport is linked by a regular coach service to Bristol Temple Meads railway station, from where there are hourly train services to Swansea (change at Cardiff Central). Travelling by Train First Great Western provides a frequent train service from London Paddington, journey time about 3. Travelling by Coach National Express journeys by coach terminate at the Quadrant Bus Station.
Taxis Taxis are available from both the coach station and railway station, taking about 15 minutes to reach the University (ask for Computational Foundry building). Travelling by CarTravelling west on the M4 leave the motorway at junction 42 and follow signs for Swansea on the A483 (Fabian Way). The Bay Campus is situated to the left-hand side of Fabian Way and the main entrance is controlled by traffic lights. There is a Visitors' Car Park immediately to the left of the main entrance. There is a large Park and Ride facility located at Fabian Way, which is a short distance from the Bay Campus. If you are arriving by car, you are recommended to drive up to the residences to drop off your luggage.
