As Wales's second city, Swansea has a full range of social, cultural and sporting amenities and excellent transport links. Founded in 1920, Swansea University enjoys exceptional location in parkland overlooking Swansea Bay on the edge of the Gower Peninsula, Britain's first 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. Lectures will be given in the Mathematics Department, which is located on the 2nd floor of the Talbot Building (map ref. 8.3), within a very short walking distance from the halls of residence.
